Details

The COLLIMATOR is a simple, cost-effective, and efficient tool for coupling collimated light into a fiber. It features a 20 mm CaF₂ lens, optimized for operation in the 2.0 – 5.0 µm wavelength range. Additionally, the COLLIMATOR can be used in reverse to collimate light emitted from a fiber, making it a versatile optical component for various mid-infrared applications. For further use of COLLIMATOR Accessory, see TRANSMISSION Measurement System.

Combustion Process Measurements in Real Time

The COLLIMATOR Accessory couples light from the flame into the mid-infrared MIRFIBER, and the MIDWAVE Spectrometer captures light and generates mid-infrared spectra seamlessly with minimal delay. As shown in the video, the measured spectra are updated in real time. The spectral features visible originate from warm water and carbon dioxide in the flame. The exposure time for this measurement is 5 ms.

Hot Object's Measurement at a Distance

Rays directly from the sun is captured by the COLLIMATOR Accessory and coupled to a MIRFIBER and sent to the MIDWAVE Spectrometer. The spectrometer reads out spectra with 5 ms exposure time and the absorption spectrum of the atmosphere is clearly visible.

Analyze combustion processes using COLLIMATOR aCCESSORY

Analyze products of combustion of hydrocarbons (methane, ethane and other alkanes): carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), water (H2O), ammonia (NH3), nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and other gases in real time using our COLLIMATOR Accessory.
